The Faculty of Education offers a variety of prizes to reward outstanding academic achievement amongst students and graduates.

Australian Council for Educational Leaders (Queensland) Award

Awarded to the outstanding graduate of educational leadership.

2007 Recipient: Ms Adeline Pillay

Australian College of Educators Award

Awarded to the outstanding graduate of initial teacher education course.

2007 Recipient: Ms Debbie Follett

Australian Literacy Educator's Association Award

Awarded to the outstanding graduate of an Education (preservice) degree (Primary or Early Childhood) course in core English language and literacy units.

2007 Recipient: Mr Grant Cowan

Association of Women Educators Award for Girls' Education

Awarded each year to one student enrolled in a preservice teacher education degree in the Faculty of Education for the highest result for an assessment piece related to study or practice in girls' education. More information and nomination form.

2007 Recipient: Ms Patricia O'Keeffe

Isolated Children's Parents' Association Award

Awarded each year to one student enrolled in or completed a preservice teacher education degree in the Faculty of Education with the highest GPA and who has shown outstanding achievement in practical teaching in a rural/remote setting. More information and nomination form.

2007 Recipient: Ms Erin Beddow

Middle Years of Schooling Association Award

Awarded to the outstanding graduate of an initial teacher education course in the middle years of schooling pathway.

2007 Recipient: Ms Robin Brandis

Master of Education/Master of Learning Innovation High Achievement Award

Awarded to the outstanding graduates of the Master of Education/Master of Learning Innovation course.

Faculty of Education Outstanding Thesis Award

The Centre for Learning Innovation has instigated a Faculty Level Award to recognise outstanding doctoral or masters work which makes a significant contribution to educational knowledge. Nominations and Faculty awardees where relevant, will also be nominated for awards such as the AARE award. More information

Professor Wendy Patton, Executive Dean for QUT's Faculty of Education, hosted the inaugural Executive Dean's Service Awards for Students at a morning tea ceremony at Kelvin Grove on September 22 2008.
