Our Goal
The goal of the Faculty of Education Equity Committee is to provide members of Equity Target Groups with support, information and advice on a variety of issues so as to assist staff and students in working and studying successfully at QUT. Equity target groups include:
- People with disabilities
- Indigenous people
- People from Non-English speaking backgrounds
- Low Income Students (including Q Step Students)
- Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender students
The Committee is also responsible for raising awareness about equity issues and creating an environment to support the organisational values and the targeted objectives of the University.
What We Do
For Staff
- Awareness raising activities tackling current issues in equity
- Information on Professional Development Recognition
- Information on staff training and development opportunities
- Access to Discrimination Officers for advice and information
- Participation in Business Leaders' Forums
- Provision of web-based information and resources
For Students
- Support for students with disabilities
- Information and advice for low-income students
- Orientation sessions for equity target groups
- Faculty Text Book Loan Scheme for low-income students
- Web-based information and resources
