Summer Program

[Print-friendly version]

All Faculty of Education students are required to allocate themselves to classes for their units for each semester, using the Class Allocation System via QUT Virtual. Unit codes starting with ED, MD, SP, EA, CL are Education codes. Other Faculties may have a different process for allocation so please refer to the relevant Faculty web site for further information.

What do I need to have?
  • Internet access
  • Your QUT-Access username and password - if you have problems please call the Help Desk on 07 3138 4000
  • A current enrolment program

What do I need to know?
  • for each unit you are enrolled in, you normally attend one lecture and one tutorial per week
  • you are required to allocate for tutorials and lectures
  • you can only allocate yourself into tutorials for units that you are currently enrolled in
  • once you have allocated yourself to a class for your unit/s, this is the one that you attend for the remainder of the semester

When can I begin this process?
The Faculty will normally switch on the Class Allocation System as follows for

Semester 1 - December of previous year after release of results from semester 2
Semester 2 - At the end of week 13 of semester 1

Faculty will normally switch off the Class Allocation System as follows for:

Semester 1 and 2 - End of first week of lectures

Please note these dates represent the majority of units in the Faculty. You will be advised by unit coordinators which units which have different switch on and off dates each semester. You may wish to visit the Student Services web site for more information about the system http://www.studentservices.qut.edu.au/enrol/course/cas.jsp

Reasons why you may not be able to allocate using CAS
You may not be able to allocate using CAS because:

  • the unit does not have multiple times for a lecture or tutorials etc, and therefore you will be allocated automatically to the single sessions. Check the timetable to see how many offerings are available.
Class Timetable
Before you start to allocate yourself to classes for your unit/s, you should obtain a copy or view the class timetable.
View the timetable online or find it in your Personal Profile via QUT Virtual.

How do I make a change?
If you need to make a change to your tutorial times for units in Education, you will need to complete the Request for a Tutorial Time Change.

Who do I send the form to?

You can identify which School to send your form to by the first 2 alpha letters in the unit code:
